This past weekend James Hahn won the Northern Trust Open. His play was spectacular, but most inspiring is his story and willingness to not give up.
Before becoming a US PGA professional, James Hahn was playing in the Canadian PGA tour. Down to his last $200 and not knowing how to pay his caddy, he was ready to throw in the hat, but fortunately he won $3000 and thus, continued to play. Getting real serious, he hung in there and Voile, is now on his way to a stellar golf career.
Often I play with guys who are ready to throw in the towel after 9 holes. They are good guys, but the reality is that we are amateurs and golf is hard. For me, I have some really good days, then turn around and have some really bad days.
My goal, in the words of Sir Winston Churchill is to “never, ever give up.” I am always striving to do my best in golf, that’s just the way I am. I consider myself a student of the game and so far, have never graduated!
The other day, my partner (Larry J) and I, came in 2nd in a local member/guest tournment. We came from behind the 1st day and managed to pull off a 2nd place finish. No, we did not win, but it was a great day to come from 5 down, to finish 2nd.
Have a great Day! Go Play!
